Two al Shabaab fighters were killed by Kenya Army soldiers at Hosingo, in the southeastern Lower Juba region of Somalia. The terrorists attempted to probe the KDF (AMISOM) Hosingo DP at around 2245hrs.
KDF army troops swiftly responded to the enemy attempted invasion. Overwhelmed, Al-Shabaab militants withdrew from their positions abandoning their improvised devices and assortment of weapons that were captured by KDF.
The attack comes as precision airstrikes against al Shabaab in the Lower Juba killed an al Shabaab commander and nine others.
While Military source confirmed there were zero casualties; KDF soldiers remain vigilant and relentlessly continue to pursue the terrorists to their hideouts, to ensure peace and security in Kenya and Somalia is restored.
