Battle of Koday Port, Somalia
On the night of 21st March 2015, Kenya Military Intelligence gave the green-light for an attack on the port of Kuday in Somalia.
Kuday was key to Al-Shabaab survival. They controlled the sea, did export of charcoal through proxies and was their main logistics hub.
Most important was the drug and arms trade with elements in Middle East and Kenyan coast. This has now been cut-off and Al-Shabaab may not survive after losing this port.
