Friday 3rd February 2017: Latest Military Intelligence reports from Somalia indicate that the Kenyan Defense Forces (KDF) escaped a roadside landmine that target its convoy near El Wak in Gedo region.
The KDF convoy escaped unhurt after a blast from landmine blast at Boc-bosa village located about 15 kilometers away from El Wak town on the Somali border with Kenya.
KDF quickly in formation responded decisively engaging the militants in the thicket in a deadly gunfight. Reports indicate 16 were killed, others escaped with gun wounds, Nine AK 47 rifles recovered.
Humiliated Al-Qaeda terrorist group has not commented on the attack on KDF that backfired on them.
Al-Shabaab terrorists are known to fight guerilla warfare, they have maintained a tactic of targeting Military Supply Routes (MSR) by planting landmines on the routes.
