
KABUL, April 19, 2016: Many civilians are feared to have been killed and wounded in a blast that has rocked central Kabul during the morning rushing hour on Tuesday, President Ashraf Ghani has said.
The attack claimed by the Taliban Takfiri terrorist group was apparently targeting offices of the Afghanistan’s main security agency.
In a statement, the Presidential Palace condemned the attack "in the strongest possible terms," saying a number of people had been killed or wounded.
The blast scene has since been cordoned off and rescue mission currently ongoing.
Emergency hospital in the city have reported to have received civilians as well as lightly wounded Afghan soldiers.
Taliban Takfiri militants have stepped up their attacks against foreign troops and Afghan security forces since the terror group announced the start of their spring offensive last week.
