The President of Jubbaland, Ahmed Islam Madoobe has come to the defence of the Republic of Kenya over the current border wall crisis at Beled Hawa- Mandera.
Madoobe asked the people of the border town of Beled Hawa to give chance to the talks to enable the crisis of the security wall by Kenya resolved amicably.
He reminded the people of Somalia of many sacrifices Kenya has made in an effort to make Somalia stable. He emphasized that Kenya in these efforts has suffered in the hands of the Al-Qaeda linked terrorists.
“Kenya’s love for our country is unquestionable. Their troops are sacrificing to be in our country to defend you. KDF is the most disciplined foreign troops in Somalia” Madoobe added.
Madoobe noted that Kenya has no plans of taking Somalia’s land rather than protecting the border.
The Somali based Al-Shabaab has been crossing over through the porous border, conducting sporadic attacks especially in the border counties and escaping back to Somalia.
Kenya is constructing the security wall along the border with Somalia in an effort to bar infiltration by the Al-Shabaab Islamists.
