In the past few weeks, French warplanes in Chad has been engaging the Libyan rebels from spilling into the country.
The Libyan U.N.-backed government has reported that its forces had conducted joint air operations with U.S. forces against Al-Qaeda terrorists in a southern desert town.
According to Tripoli-based government spokesman Mohammed al-Salak, the bombing took place in the town of Ubari, about 950 kilometers, or 590 miles, south of the capital, Tripoli.
Islamist terrorists including ISIS and All-Qaeda have expanded their foothold in Libya after the country plunged into chaos following the 2011 uprising that ousted and killed longtime dictator Moammar Gadhafi.
