John Melvin Lavergne a troubled insurance agent shot dead two unarmed Louisiana insurance fraud investigators.
The two investigators killed by John Melvin Lavergne are Rhett Jeansonne and Kim Sledge.
Rhett Jeansonne and Kim Sledge were trying to collect information from the insurance agent who they have been investigating.
Lavergne killed the two at 1pm Tuesday in his office. Both victims were unarmed.
Rhett Jeansonne and Kim Sledge, are veteran investigators and were following up on Lavergne, who is involved in various fraud investigations.
John Melvin Lavergne aged 66 had the the state Department of Insurance suspended his insurance license in 2009.
He was fined him $16,500 for providing fraudulent proofs of vehicle insurance multiple times.
The killer John Melvin Lavergne has been in the insurance industry for 40 years specializing in casualty, property and vehicle physical damage insurance.
He is also accused of not sending proceeds to clients besides causing premium collapses.
