Ricky Roy House and Kendra Tooley kidnapped Joelle Lockwood and caged her besides making her a slave in their home, police report.
The couple was charged in a court on Monday with rape, criminal confinement, kidnapping and other felonies likened to “modernized slavery.”
The Indiana couple held Joelle Lockwood captive for two months. They were holding Joelle Lockwood in a small wooden cage.
Ricky Roy House Jr., 37, and his girlfriend, Kendra Tooley, 44 were charged Monday during a hearing in Posey Circuit Court in Mount Vernon.
The judge appointed public defenders for the couple who were held on $50,000 cash-only bonds.
Kidnappers Ricky Roy House and Kendra Tooley were arrested early Sunday at their mobile home in rural southwestern Indiana.
Joelle Lockwood of Evansville was kidnapped July 9 when Ricky Roy House, an acquaintance picked her up and drove her to the home he shared with Tooley in Stewartsville.
The couple enslaved Joelle Lockwood for 59 days.
