A jihadi media group has termed the recent attack on tourists in Tunisia’s Bardo Museum as a small gesture and gone ahead to call on Muslims to attack tourists travelling in Tunisia.
Ifriqiyah Media, which has close links with organizations such as the Tunisia-based Uqba bin Nafi Battalion, promoted the attack on the Bardo Museum as a simple operation.
At least 22 people, including 20 foreign tourists, were killed in the Wednesday attack when gunmen attacked the museum in Tunis.
Out of the five terrorists who carried out the attack which also left 22 people injured, two gunmen were shot dead by Tunisian security forces.
The spokesman said the gunmen entered the Bardo Museum through the parliament building in Tunis and took a group of tourists as hostages when security forces stormed the building.
Wednesday’s attack is the most dangerous in Tunisia since its independence in 1956.
Ifriqiyah Media has called on Muslims to attack tourists, especially Americans, Britons, French, and Israelis travelling to Tunisia.
