An Islamic State terrorist was killed while trying to plant a bomb in the eastern province of Diyala, according to Iraqi security source.
According to the sources referenced by various Iraqi news websites, the explosion took place near Imam Weis area, about 64 km northeast of Baqubah.
The terrorist’s body was torn into pieces as a result of the bomb explosion, the source added.
Violence in the Iraq has surged further with the resurgence of Islamic State extremist terrorists who proclaimed an “Islamic Caliphate” in Iraq and Syria in 2014.
The surge in violence between armed groups and government forces has resulted in over five million internally displaced persons across Iraq and left more than 11 million in need of humanitarian assistance, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
