Saudi and Yemeni special forces have announced the capture of ISIS leader of the Yemen branch. The leader of the ISIS-Yemen affiliate has been identified as Abu Osama Al-Muhajir.
The leader identified as Abu Osama Al Muhajir was caught in an early June raid along with other members of the militant group including its chief financial officer. The arrests were conducted after a house kept under close surveillance proved the presence of the terror group’s leader, and other elements were raided by the Saudi-led coalition.
Daesh and other extremist groups have flourished in the chaos of the country’s civil war, which pits the government — backed by the Saudi-led coalition — against Shiite Houthi rebels. Intelligence reports have since indicated that since the fall of the caliphate in Iraq and Syria fighters have been migrating to join the compatriots in Yemen.
