Ireland has once again opened doors for Kenya into the Irish market following the re-opening of the Ireland Embassy.
Ireland’s Ambassador to Kenya, Vincent O’Neill says the re-opening of the Embassy after a 26 year break will not only offer consular services but it will redefine the country’s relationship with Africa.
The return of Ireland to Africa, specifically Kenya has created a new cloud for foreign investors who are looking up to East Africa’s top economy hub.
Emerging opportunities through the reopening of the Embassy is also set to create stronger ties with Ireland.
Despite closure of her doors in Kenya since 1988, there have been ongoing strong cordial relations with Africa. Importation of Jameson and Guinness to Kenya and other African nations has continuously demonstrated strong economic links with the North Atlantic Island.
Exportation of goods from Ireland to Kenya has reflected a 175 percent growth in 2014 as compared to in 2005.
These include essential oils and perfumes, office and data processing machinery, beverages and dairy products whereas Kenya carries across flowers, fruit, vegetables, tea and coffee accounted to Ireland.
