Iraqi forces have taken control of Daesh-held Qayyara district located in the country’s northern region.
The forces seized control of the strategic center of Qayyara district during their offensives aimed at capturing Mosul.
According to a senior Iraqi military commander, General Moen al-Saadi, the forces are on the last phase of fully liberating Qayyara from Daesh terrorist.
During the operation, more than 30 Daesh terrorists have been killed in a fierce gun battle with Iraqi troops which began Thursday 25th August 2016 morning.
“Qayyara will be fully liberated from Daesh on Friday,” General Moen al-Saadi was quoted saying.
Corresponding report by Qayyara Governor Saleh Hassan point out that Iraqi troops are now in control of 80 percent of territory in the district.
