Iraqi Forces have reported that the intense fight against ISIS in Ramadi could take longer due to the presence of planted bombs and explosives which the militants have hidden in various houses.
Invading through Ramadi, Anbar province to secure most government building and government institutions from ISIS could take longer as compared to recapturing Tikrit from ISIS.
Intense house-to-house battles, planted bombs and explosives keep halting the Iraqi forces against ISIS militants.
The same strategy was used by these militants in Tikrit. However, it was not as planned as the one in Ramadi seems, say Iraqi official.
Iraqi forces has killed 10 ISIS militants in Ramadi and captured lots of ammunitions and weapons. They also found 75 bombs and several other IEDs during the invasion.
Recapturing Ramadi’s main bridge in Hoz from ISIS will be a significant win for the Iraqi forces. This is because it is close to the provincial building and other government institutions which ISIS has taken control over.
