The Houthis militants have announced that they are offering a bounty of approximately $93,000 to anyone who apprehends Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, and hand him over to the Houthi Ruling Council. The announcement at a time when Houthi militants have made strategic military gains against their Sunni rivals.
The Houthis are currently advancing towards Aden, the largest stronghold of the Sunnis; and the place where Mr.Hadi is holed up. Sanaa, the capital of Yemen, is presently under firm Houthi control; and this has allowed Iran to resupply the Houthi fighters as well as establish espionage bases in the country.
The Houthis successful military campaign against Sunni militants has greatly alarmed the neighboring Gulf Arab Nations as most of their governments fear that the Houthi success in Yemen will instigate their suppressed benign Shiite populations to rise up in popular revolts against the ruling Sunni autocracies. At the moment, Sunni Arab leaders are contemplating a direct military intervention that will halt the Houthi advance.
The Houthis belong to the Zaidi Shiite Sect; and they have always aligned themselves with their fellow Shiites in Iran, Iraq, Iraq and Syria. The presence of significant Shiite populations in various Middle Eastern countries has allowed Iran to dominate the Middle East.
