12th January 2016, a gang of three men shot and killed a police officer in Mombasa early Tuesday.
The police officer was shot dead by three armed gunmen at Check-Point Shika Adabu, in Mombasa county initial police reports indicate.
Likoni CID boss David Siele confirmed the Tuesday morning incident saying that the police officer identified as Nelson Mwadime was escorting a maize flour lorry to Diani when the gunmen riding on a motorcycle attacked their vehicle and killed him.
The armed gunmen then stole Mwadime’s G3 rifle which was loaded and fled.
Siele also confirmed that police officers who immediately responded are pursuing the criminals.
