Several grenade blasts were on Monday evening heard near a military base in northern of capital Mogadishu.
Corresponding OSINT reports indicate that the grenade attack linked to Harakat Shabab Mujahideen Movements better known as Al-Shabaab were targeting military forward operating base which holds hundreds of Somali and AMISOM-UPDF forces.
After the blasts, a heavy gunfire followed near the army barracks in Deynile district. Unverified BDA reports indicate a number of casualty from both sides.
Joint operation was launched in pursuit of the militants who fled after being overpowered.
