Intelligence reports that gunmen who are adherents of the Somali terror group Harakat Al-Shabaab Mujahideen gained entry to the Garissa University College on Thursday 2/4/2015 at around 5.30 AM.
The gunmen hurled a grenade at the gate to distract the security officers. They killed the 2 gourds manning the gate and proceeded to attack the students hostels.
2 Police officers deployed to guard the university college engaged the terrorists before calling for rapid reinforcement.
There is no official figure on fatalities.
An inter-agency operation to flush the terrorists is going on.
