Galmudug forces have regain control of Godinlabe village in Somalia’s central region of Galgadud after battling Ahlu Sunna fighters who had seized the locality on Wednesday.
The heavily armed Galmudug forces with tanks and armored vehicles took part in the counter-offensive battle in a bid to recapture the small village of Godinlabe located between Dhusa-mareb and Adado towns.
Thursday morning the area remains under the full control of the interim Galmudug troops.
Calm has returned to the area after fierce exchange of gunfire were reported in the city's outskirt though residents fears of counter-attack by the Ahlu Sunna militiamen.
