At least five people were killed in a car bomb in Mogadishu on a Tuesday evening according to security and medical sources.
A SVBIED exploded near a military checkpoint and just a few metres from the guarded presidential palace (Villa Somalia).
Five people who included a woman and two children were caught up in the heinous suicide vehicle borne improvised explosive device attack and numerous injuries.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the bombing, but Al-Shabaab armed group has carried out similar attack in the past.
The car bombing happened a few hours after Somalia’s Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khayre unveiled his cabinet ministers.
