Event Summary
On Monday morning, 24th August 2015, OSINT reports from Gedo southwest of the capital Mogadishu say that there was heavy fighting between the government soldiers and the Al Shabaab at Qodaxey location.
Qodaxey location comes under Bardheree district which recently was liberated from Al Shabaab control by the AMISOM forces. Bardheere district has been under the control of Al Shabaab militants for more than 8 year.
The fierce fight is reported to have erupted after daybreak lasting for several hours. Several Al Shabaab fighters were killed and scores others injured, there were no civilian casualties that have been reported.
