MAIDUGURI, Nigeria, April 21, 2016
Two suicide bombers detonated their vest killing themselves along other eight at a refugee camp in troubled northeast region.
According to a community security force official, the eight people killed at the camp were initially displaced by the Boko Haram insurgency in northeast region of Nigeria.
The bombing happened on Wednesday at around 0700 GMT at a refugee camp in the town of Banki on the edge of Borno state close to the border of Cameroon.
An attack by Boko Haram militants in February 2016 on an internally displaced person’s camp, also in Borno, killed 60 people.
The state of Borno is where Boko Haram began their insurgency seven years ago. The violent Islamist group pledged allegiance to ISIS and wants to create a state adhering to strict sharia law.
The two female suicide bombers originally shelved themselves as IDPs before committing the heinous act.
