Islamic States terror group ‘ “Sinai Province issued a statement claiming a 4-Man Suicide Raid on Egyptian Military HQ in Arish. According to the statement issued, the terrorists used light weapons and explosive vests against the checkpoint near the headquarters of the 101 Battalion in El-Arish, North Sinai.
However, the gallant Egyptian Army troops intercepted the suicide bombers killing them all and destroying the vests rigged with explosives. In recent weeks the Egyptian forces have developed an underground intelligence network that tracks the movements of ISIS terrorists in the country which has resulted in the aversion of major attacks on both military and civilian targets.
ISIS is attempting to create a caliphate in the Sahel region especially in Libya and has been propagating their agenda through fake and exaggerated attacks. However, due to lack of weaponry and proper terror network, their efforts have been frustrated by the integrated security efforts of the militaries in the region.
Intelligence reports indicate that the seemingly organized IS has a lot of in-fighting and power struggles that are easy to exploit to eradicate the caliphate both in the Middle East and the Sinai Peninsula haven. Additionally, due to the same, a lot of defections have been experienced as the fighters flee the senseless assassinations.
