Egyptian security forces killed three terror militants and arrested 74 others in intelligence-led raids targeting militant groups in North Sinai in recent days, the military said in a statement announced Thursday.
Egypt continues to face an Islamist insurgency led by the Islamic State group in the Sinai Peninsula that has left hundreds of innocent civilians, soldiers and police killed since 2013.
The forces did not name a specific militant group or release the names of those killed during the raids but said the militants were “highly dangerous”.
During the raids, security forces managed to destroy five technicals, four-wheel drive vehicles and four storage and logistical bases used to manufacture improvised explosive devices, the military statement added.
