Egyptian Army on Monday announced its success in closing and destroying 20 entrances that link her Sinai Peninsula with the Hamas-Gaza Strip in the month of November.
The destroyed entrances are of cross-border tunnels in a network of subterranean passages that have been used to ferry supplies to militants and other support in Sinai.
The announcement was made by Army spokesman Brigadier-General Mohamed Samir on December 7th that have been in place since 2007 linking Sinai to the Palestinian Gaza Strip./
Credible OSINT has affirmed that the tunnels have been used to import commodities that the militants are in dire need of like food, medical supplies and fuel.
The destruction of the tunnels has been in place since the ouster of the Muslim Brotherhood leadership of Mohamed Morsi with attempts including flooding the tunnels with water.
The network of tunnels has significantly increased the network of the militants in the Sinai Peninsula making it easy for them to cross without detection into the safe haven
