10th December 2015, U.S. has urged on Europe to share more Intelligence with other nations to enable broader security measures.
White House implored European partners to do more by sharing of information and intelligence to counter the rising extremist threat.
White House encouraged European nation to share information with U.S. as well as other countries collected on PNR.
PNR is a database containing the itinerary for passenger or a group of passengers travelling together.
Another concern for the U.S. is the Visa waiver programme that it shares with more than 30 countries allowing their citizenry to enter U.S. for short stays – 90 days.
The waiver programme is reported to have benefitted ISIL supporters to have easy entry into Europe citing fears of an attack in the U.S. after Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik killed 14 victims in San Bernardino, California, last week.
Investigation report revealed that Malik was an operative of the ISIL militant group having pledged allegiance to the militant leadership via social media.
Malik came to the U.S on a fiancee visa, her husband who was a U.S. citizen.
