Police have allowed opposition politicians to hold a political rally in the capital Nairobi this weekend after members of the CORD coalition engaged the top security chiefs in dialogue.
Police Inspector General David Kimaiyo confirmed that the planned CORD Uhuru park meeting would go on.
Earlier police had warned politicians against holding public rallies citing security as the key point in the police directive.
CORD weekend rally is meant to welcome back Raila Odinga back to the country after a long absence.
The political rally will also be used to drum up support to petition the Kenyan government to do more in tackling challenges the country is facing.
