Opposition party CORD has accused ruling party Jubilee of plotting the violence being witnessed in HomaBay as political parties campaign for a by-election.
ODM/CORD is accusing Jubilee of funding youths to cause political violence in the Homa Bay county.
CORD Candidate Moses Kanjwang has met hostile reception in the County of Homa Bay in South Nyanza area of Kenya. The area is deemed a CORD stronghold.
Residents are angry with the party leadership after it selected a senatorial candidate instead of allowing free and fair elections to identify one.
Hostile youths are now marauding the county hunting down the CORD caravan and stoning it at the slightest opportunity.
CORD feels this is not spontaneous rather a choreographed criminal strategy to draw out a picture of a violent party.
Government officials have however distanced themselves from the events and told off the CORD party officials.
