China’s process of evacuation of its national from Yemen came to completion on Tuesday with the final batch returning home on two naval vessels.
This follows the worsening security condition in Yemen, where more than 540 people have been killed and 1,700 others wounded as the country sinks deeper into a multi-sided conflict.
According to UNICEF, at least 74 children have been confirmed killed and 44 wounded since March 26 in the violence. The foundation also added that it believed the toll to be far higher.
More than 100,000 people have been displaced by the violence raged Monday between rebels and loyalists in southern Yemen as the Red Cross faced delays to urgently needed aid deliveries.
Nations are as a result recalling their nationals from Yemen with the United States asking its nationals to flee the violence by sea due to the closure of several airports in Yemen
