Pictures of an Chinese armed CH-3 drone wreckage near the village of Dumge in Nigeria’s northeast Borno state is indicative of a new strategy against Boko-Haram by the Nigerian security services.
Borno State is the epicenter of the violent Islamist insurgency and an armed drone in the region is indeed symbolic.
Pictures obtained by Open-Source Intelligence Intercepting at SIN, shows a unmanned Chinese CH-3 combat aerial vehicle.
The CH-3 drone is made by the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation.
The drone as seen on the pictures has missiles fixed to two hardpoints and a sensor payload.
Nigeria has actively sought foreign military help to stop Boko Haram insurgency and China could have been the reliable partner.
