March 9, 2016, Information and Communications Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru has called on Kenyan Police to receive special training to enable them counter and fight cybercrime.
According to the ICT cabinet secretary, training on digital forensics will be appropriate for the police citing adequate analytical and technical capabilities will be essential in countering cyber menace.
The CS noted that cyber-based crime, violence is on the rise and manifests itself inform of stalking, bullying and other emotional bullying.
Cyberspace has also been used by terrorist organization to push their agenda. Terrorists nowadays are using online platform to instigate psychological warfare and for recruitment purposes.
The specialized police training in the use of modern technology and social media will come in handy in effectively countering and eliminating cybercrime in Kenya.
