The British Prime Minister recently announced that UK will help Somalia combat Al-Shabaab jihadists.
Mrs. May affirmed that hundreds of British troops will be sent to Somalia to help in training the national army.
30 training teams involving 70 troops at a time will be sent to Somalia to help combat the Al-Shabaab terrorist.
Mrs. May also revealed that her government plans to provide £7 million fund sorely in training the skills of the Somali and African Union mission in AMISOM forces.
The British PM also noted International Community contribution in the war in Somalia saying the support should continue until Somalia is freed of Al-Shabaab menace.
She also noted training of Somali National Army saying it’s important to arm it with skills saying one day SNA with be tasked with the countries security.
Mrs. May praised AMISOM, saying it has fought Al-Shabaab tirelessly. AMISOM has seen Al-Shabaab capability being weakened and driven out from all major cities it used to control, she added.
