Arthur L. Anderson, of Kokomo is dead after he was stabbed to death in an unprovoked attack by Shane C. Golitko as he led an Indiana Boy Scout troop.
Shane C. Golitko an assailant living in the woods when he stopped with the scouts to identify a tree killed Arthur L. Anderson, a 76-year-old man from Kokomo.
A 911 call did not suffice to save his life after he succumbed to the injuries before the ambulance could arrive.
The killer of the Kokomo man was arrested after a police chase in the woods.
The assailant stabbed Anderson on the neck as he led a group of boy scouts at the Nickel Plate Trail in Bunker Hill.
Shane C. Golitko of Bunker Hill was arrested and will be charged with murder and assault after reports emerged that he also assaulted his mother.
He also injured a man who was with Anderson.
