Reports on open sources platforms indicate that Ansar Allah terrorist group reportedly released 18 imprisoned (Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula) AQAP jihadists in Yemen’s Al-Bayda governorate.
According to terrorism watch report by IHS Jane’s, the deal was negotiated between the two groups on an earlier but unspecified date.
In a statement released by AQAP on 14 April, the group claimed that the 18 terrorists had attacked prison guards and escaped.
The reports however could not be independently verified.
