32-year-old Amy Slanina fake pregnancies landed her in jail after several years of walking free and scamming unsuspecting well wishers, authorities have told away.
Amy Slanina has been extorting money, and other forms of favors by lying she is expectant whereas she can’t even conceive, police told reporters.
Police records show that Amy Slanina has continuously pretended to be pregnant so infertile couples, female friends or lovers will shower her with attention, affection and sometimes money, clothes, food and shelter.
However, in a recent attempt to scam a couple that adopts children, she landed herself in trouble and finally got jailed.
Amy Slanina contacted Barry Vest, 36, and Rebecca, 31 and told them she was expectant and about to give birth in January but contacted them on December confirming she was on labor besides providing live updates on the progress.
Barry Vest, 36, and Rebecca, 31 were moved and even went to the maternity wing she alleged to be in but did not find the existence of such a patient.
Slanina is 5-foot-4 and 175 pounds, and could pass for being six or seven months’ pregnant.
