Intelligence reports indicate there are battle plans and deployments to flush Al-Shabaab from their Barawe base on the coast of Somalia.
Barawe is a strategic port city which lies between Kismayu and Mogadishu and now remains the most strategic operations base for the terror group Al-Shabaab. Somali National Army and the African Union Forces [AMISOM] will in the coming days deploy strategically to starve Barawe vital logistical resources besides reduce the militants operational capability.Intelligence shows that the Al Qaeda-linked militant group uses Barawe town as its main military base.
Barawe town is so far the biggest stronghold for Al-Shabaab today and the AMISOM joint intelligence mandate is planning a fresh joint operation to reduce the strategic value of the port town to the terror group.
