AMISOM troops fighting Al Shabaab in Somalia have vowed to intensify patrol in the region despite the severe retaliation from the Somali based militants.
A joint force by the Somali Police Force (SPF) and the Formed Police Unit (FPU) of the AMISOM has vowed to work closely to deter any potential threats on the militants’ soft spots.
Since the invasion of the Kenya Defence Forces into Somalia, where the troops have liberated several towns, intensified measures are still being put in place to ensure that Somali residents are freed from Al Shabaab oppression.
Recent attack incidents in Somalia have shown how Al Shabaab is fast retaliating by attacking military bases and institutions affiliated to the United Nations.
Their attempts have been channeled towards stealing weaponry from military bases in a bid to strengthen the militant troops.
Shebab militants have further captured a number of towns in an effort to prove their resilience, however AMISOM troops have been able to recaptured these towns.
Drastic measures have been put in place to boost on the war against Al Shabaab in Somalia. The use of the group’s false ideology strategy has been countered by establishing institutions which counter false Islamic teachings.
It is these ideologies that have majorly misled thousands of youth across East Africa and other foreigners into joining Al Shabaab militia group.
