At least one SNA soldier succumbed to gun wounds when armed Al-Shabaab militants launched an ambush attack targeting their camp in El Baraf.
The militant raided SNA convoy near El Baraf village in Middle Shabelle region, Somalia. Another two SNA soldiers were wounded in the clash.
The convoy came under fire immediately after leaving their camp from El Baraf and headed to Biyo Adde area, where SNA soldiers were going to collect their monthly salaries.
On AMISOM’s Twitter feed, the AU command in Somalia wrote “AMISOM seeks to clarify that Somali National Army forces and our troops are still present and in total control of El Baraf area in Middle Shabelle region,”
AMISOM can confirm there was an attempted attack on the SNA camp in El Baraf earlier today by Al-Shabaab.
The attackers were successfully repulsed and fled the town. AS efforts to deny peace to the people of Somalia shall continue to be nullified. Read the Twitter feed.
Al-Shabaab also suffered undisclosed number of casualties.
