AMISOM and Somali government troops are on high alert in Diinsoor town and its environs following intelligence reports of possible al Shabaab attacks. As of Thursday October 8th, the troops have taken strategic defensive formations in the town and its outskirts.
Residents have reported a robust in the military presence in the area as the troops prepare to pre-empt and thwart any planned attack.
Diinsoor town and its outskirts were liberated from the Al Shabaab militants in July 2015 and have since been under the troops control as calm and stability returned.
