The Somali National Army alongside their African Mission counterparts is working under a tight schedule to wipe out Al Shabaab militants from the Juba region in southern Somalia.
There are already ongoing door to door operations aimed to net any remaining militants from the region as operation Juba corridor hits full swing.
On 14th September 2015, SNA forces and AMISOM troops launched backup operations that targeted households to beef up the ongoing operation Juba corridor. The operations also involved the government police alongside the region’s peace keeping agents who are making door-to-door operations intended to counter insecurity tip-offs.
The operations will ensure that areas that are still under militant control will fall squarely under control of the Somali National Army and the AMISOM troops.
