Air strikes conducted by African Mission in Somalia affiliates killed several top leaders of the Al-Qaeda branch in Somalia, Harakat Al-Shabaab Mujahideen movement (HSM).
Airstrikes targeted the terror groups 'assumed' police precint in Jiliib town. The town of Jiliib serves as the headquaters of the terror group. Jiliib is in Middle Juba region of Southern Somalia.
Initial military intelligence reports indicate that slighlty of 20 fighters and several top leaders (likely members of the Shura Council) were killed in the airstrike.
Kenya has vowed to destroy Al-Shabaab through multipronged military operations in Somalia and its borderline villages. Kenya has carried out successful airstrikes in Gedo and Juba regions in recent past.
