Somali government forces backed by Ethiopian troops under AMISOM contingent on Thursday October 8th, repulsed a would-be lethal ambush by the Al Shabaab militants near former Al Shabaab headquarters Diinsoor district.
The fierce battle ensued in Bulo-addey village when the militants attacked the very prepared allied troops. The would-be guerilla ambush on the troop bases was pre-empted by the joint collaboration of the allied troops and the Somali intelligence agency.
According to the allied troops officials the militants suffered irretrievable losses with no casualties on the troops’ side. Intelligence reports had earlier indicated the troops assuming defensive formations in preparedness to repulse any attack in Diinsoor and its outskirts.
