- I8th June 2015, AMISOM joint operation successfully foils Al-Shabaab suicide attack in Adado Central Somalia
The holy month of Ramadhan started Thursday 18th June 2015, the Somali based Islamists; Harakat Al Shabaab Al Mujahideen marks their first day of the holy month with failed and botched missions.
On Thursday 18th June 2015, Al Shabaab militants attempted a suicide attack targeting Adado conference delegates. AMISOM troops managed to foil and preempt would be suicide attack.
Intelligence reports the armed militias with automatic rifles inside a van with explosives; 3 militant attempted to make their way into Adado conference center in central Somalia which had about 400 delegates participating in the state formation conference.
The Security Forces who were manning the entrance managed to foil the militants plan. The mission ended with one suicide bomber designated as driver blowing himself up in the car while the other three militants were shot dead by the security forces.
AMISOM troops deployed at the facility swiftly managed to intercept the suicide attackers and neutralized the threat effectively.
Somali government has deployed hundreds of Police Officers to beef up security in the war torn streets of Mogadishu on eve of dawn-to-dusk fasting holy month of Ramadan.
