Several al Shabaab militants were killed after the Somali National Army botched an attack at a police station in Jalalaqsi town in Hiiraan region. The insurgents attacked the police station with the aim of taking control of the town and replenishing their depleted armory.
Al Shabaab militants have grown desperate in the past months as they engage in suicide missions to try and regain territories. SNA alongside the AMISOM troops have exerted increased pressure on their enclaves killing dozens of insurgents and driving them out of their havens.
