Why Al Shabaab Kenya Radicalize Mombasa Republican Council (MRC) Elements
MRC are land militants and ethnic terrorists. That aspect itself makes them an ideal proxy for political-religious terrorists like Al-Shabaab.
MRC Land militancy and ethnic terrorism agenda concurs with Al-Shabaab’s ideology of imaginary Muslim lands in Kenya. This is a form of asymmetry. The asymmetrical threat posed by Al-Shabaab terrorists can come through MRC agenda.
Land militants seek separation from mother lands. Islamic caliphates are khwarij’s that seek autonomy. Elements of the Al-Shabaab and MRC terror outfits have been training together. Objectively Al-Shabaab Amniyaat has been eyeing the tired & frustrated elements f MRC to perform extremism.
Al Shabaab Kenya ‘Al-Hijra’ eye’s Kenya’s disfranchised social-politics to push the economic & social marginalization agenda.
The terrorists have managed to rope in a sizeable amount of MRC youths into their ranks and folds. Some coastal politicians have also been mentioned in intelligence report to have links with elements of MRC. The threat posed by the cessationists is under government security agencies watch.
