An Al-Shabaab IED blast targeted AMISOM convoy in Mahaday town in Middle Shabelle region of Somalia.
Corresponding reports from resident indicate that a loud explosion from a remotely controlled IED was heard and thick smoke was seen rising into the sky. AMISOM sources indicate that AU troops managed to seal off the scene. The troops managed to defuse three roadside IEDs planted on their supplies routes.
Al-Shabaab is known to target SNA and AMISOM military supply routes with roadside bombs.
