Security officers in Mogadishu are in pursuit of several gunmen who are said to have shot two people in the early hours of Wednesday. The two victims were government officials playing crucial roles in the intelligence hierarchy in Mogadishu.
One of the victims is a teacher of Qur’an school in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu is said to be fundamental in the deradicalization and advancing moderate Islam.
Investigations have been launched into the involvement of the ISIS-affiliated al Shabaab faction that has been conducting assassinations on intelligence and security officers in Mogadishu.
