At least two Ethiopian soldiers have been killed and three others injured after a powerful improvised explosive device (IED) targeted a military vehicle in central Somalia. according to witness accounts, the vehicle was in a convoy that was traveling along Elgal-Jiwil road when it was hit by the IED, causing a massive explosion.
The convoy which was part of the Ethiopian military serving under the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) was on its way to a town on Ethiopia’s border with Somalia.
However, the errant Al-Shabab said at least 30 Ethiopian soldiers were killed and scores injured after a powerful improvised explosive device (IED) targeted a military vehicle in central Somalia.
The claim by al Shabaab has been refuted by collaborative military sources in central Somalia and been dismissed as being exaggerated attempts by al Shabaab to spread fear and propaganda to its followers who have suffered heavy losses in the past weeks by airstrikes and ground offensives.
