Heavily armed Al-Shabaab terrorists Tuesday evening attempted to breach in a military Forward Operating Base (FOB) manned by Somali National Army (SNA) near Bal’ad in Middle Shabelle region.
The Al-Qaeda linked group engaged SNA troops as they tried to raid their outpost in Qalimow settlement, located in the outskirts of Bal’ad district in Middle Shabelle region.
Corresponding reports from residents indicate that they woke up to heavy gun fire and loud grenade explosions last night as the two side engaged in a fierce battle near a military base in Qalimow village.
Casualties reported from both sides. Humiliated Shebab which most exaggerates casualty figures as warfare tactic has not commented on the botched raid.
