The President of Djibouti HE Ishmael Omar Gelle on Wednesday 30th September pledged to organize a meeting for the heads of the states whose troops are fighting in Somalia as part of the African Union mission.
And President of the Federal Republic of Somalia HE Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud highly endorsed the suggestion made by President Gelle, urging all the meeting heads of States to put the situation of Somali National Army top priority of the meeting.
Top on the agenda will be the implementations to strengthen the Somali National Army.
Expected to attend are the AMISOM staff which comes from Burundi, Cameroon, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Uganda and Zambia.
However, the bulk of AMISOM troops come from six countries: Uganda, Burundi, Djibouti, Kenya, Ethiopia and Sierra Leone. Heads of these states will convene in Djibouti on a later date.
Also likely to attend are western powers that are deploying their troops in Somalia to work under the AU mandate. These could include the United States and Britain.
